Overview/Information
The NRA Home Firearm Safety training is the basic course recommended to anyone unfamiliar with guns, needs to learn gun terminology, or learn handling basic firearm types. Please bring a comfortable chair to sit in. Some will be there, but may get uncomfortable. Also, bring water to drink - the weather may be warm. The class will be held under the archery shelter. Due to COVID-19, no drinks or food will be provided. Sunglasses may be desired as well to reduce eye strain. Course Goal
To teach basic knowledge and skills, and to explain the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of guns in the home.
Lesson Plan
In the four-hour course students will learn: Rules of Safe Gun Handling, Identifying and Unloading various Firearms Ammunition Cleaning and Storage Hands-on experience with the most common types of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. A representation of each type of common firearm will be provided.
